Daniel Godoy Martinez
Yodog! What’s up? My name is Daniel Godoy-Martinez, a Venezuelan graphic design graduate from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a background in illustration. Currently, I live in Portland, Oregon and work as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator.
Lately, I have been focusing on one specific character I like to call, ‘streetdogs.’ This character goes through the storyline of exploring the urban world and leaving their mark around for everyone to interpret. They can seem a little sketchy as they lurk in the dark but they are as friendly as their creator. The character allows viewers to be reminded to express the idea of having fun and doing whatever they want to do, whenever they want to.
My intention is to inspire viewers to explore the piece; sparking curiosity to find new meanings or parts they didn’t see before. If I’m not designing you can find me doodling or spray-painting.
