Pablo Monsalve
Pablo Monsalve is a Colombian documentary photographer who has focused on journalistic issues for more than ten years. In Colombia he has published in the newspapers El Colombiano and UniversoCentro and in the magazines Semana, Arcadia, Soho and Esquire Colombia. His photographs have appeared in international media such as Gatopardo México, Times, Vox, The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, Vanity Fair, among others.
In Colombia he has exhibited his work at the EAFIT and Pontificia Bolivariana universities, and at the TRIP Hotel Medellín. At the same time, he collaborated in some film projects where he played different roles in the productions.
His work was selected for the Cuba Foto Festival 2015, organized by the José Martí Institute of Journalism in Havana, and for the Creative Capital workshop, in New York City, in 2019. At the end of 2021 he was invited by the Instituto El Puente, in Brooklyn, New York, to a collective exhibition in which his father, Julio Monsalve, a Colombian plastic artist who participated in the call, also exhibited.
Pablo Monsalve lives in New York City, where he develops audiovisual projects with an emphasis on documentary, artistic photography and video. He has made video clips as a producer and has managed to combine different artistic lines from the image. He is a freelance photographer for ViewPress, an international photography agency based in New York. In 2020 he produced Dante, a fiction short film written and directed by Cristian Peña, which has been touring different international festivals
